Breast Cancer Now

Breast Cancer Now

We’re Breast Cancer Now, the charity that’s steered by world-class research and powered by life-changing care. We’re here for anyone affected by breast cancer, the whole way through, providing support for today and hope for the future.

Facts about our job

  • In the UK around 55,000 women and 370 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year. This equates to one woman every 10 minutes and one man every day. If nothing changes, this will rise to one woman every eight minutes by 2030.
  • Breast cancer is the most common cancer. Nearly one in three new cancers diagnosed in women in the UK are breast cancer.
  • Every year in the UK around 11,500 women and 81 men die from breast cancer – that’s nearly 1,000 deaths each month, 31 each day or one every 45 minutes.

We’re that trusted friend that you turn to for caring support when you need it most. The expert authority on breast cancer research who is making breakthroughs and driving forward progress. And a vehicle for change, acting now to make sure anyone affected by breast cancer gets the best possible treatment and care.

We believe that we can change the future of breast cancer and make sure that, by 2050, everyone diagnosed with the disease lives – and is supported to live well. But we need to act now.

At Breast Cancer Now we’re steered by our world-class research. By funding almost 340 of the brightest minds in breast cancer research across the UK and Ireland, we’re discovering how we can prevent breast cancer, save lives and live well with the disease. Giving us the power to drive forward progress on a global stage.

At Breast Cancer Now we’re driven by our life-changing care. Our breast care nurses, expertly trained staff and volunteers, and award-winning information is all here to make sure anyone diagnosed with breast cancer gets the support they need to help them to live well with the physical and emotional impacts of the disease.

We’re getting closer to a future where everyone diagnosed with breast cancer lives – and is supported to live well. But we can’t stop now.

Monthly Donations

  • £5 per month or £60 annually

£5 per month could buy invaluable information resources to give five people with breast cancer the vital answers they need right now. These could help them understand their diagnosis, treatment options, reconstruction and more. Over a year that’s 60 people supported with the answers they need.

  • £7.50 per month or £90 annually

£7.50 per month could buy essential laboratory equipment for our researchers. This could be tubes for freezing cells for future experiments, or bags of test tubes and flasks for growing cancer cells, that our scientists will experiment on.

  • £10 per month or £120 annually

£10 per month could provide leaflets to doctors’ surgeries in the UK to promote breast-checking, and inform about the signs and symptoms of breast cancer.

  • £20 per month or £240 annually

£20 per month could buy enough of our specialist nurses’ time to give eight people with breast cancer the support they need through our Helpline, or help deliver twelve hours of our cutting-edge breast cancer research.
